Mikkuri
A slip-prone little gentleman penguin who lives on your PC
Mikkuri is a hand-drawn penguin that lives on your Windows desktop. Click and both flippers flap, rub its belly, drag it around. Double-click and whoops, it slips on a patch of ice. Its eyes follow your mouse. It never reads what you type and never sends anything online.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
Mikkuri started out as my daughter's sketch of a penguin. It is our fourth friend, after Ottori the otter, Mangbori the meerkat and Pongdari the baby hippo. The art was drawn with the help of AI, in the same hand-drawn style as the other three.
On land, penguins waddle along, and on ice they flop onto their bellies and slide like a sled. Mikkuri is a very serious little gentleman who keeps slipping anyway, then carries on as if nothing happened.
I'm not a developer. I built this program step by step with an AI coding assistant.
What Mikkuri does:
• Click it and both flippers flap, click the cream-colored belly and it flops onto its back giggling, move your mouse back and forth over it to pet it
• Drag it and it dangles; let go quickly and... thud!
• Double-click and whoops! It slips on a patch of ice (Full edition)
• Its eyes follow your mouse while it stands idle
• Clicks anywhere except on Mikkuri go straight through, and it hides when you go full screen
Mikkuri's promise: it never reads what you type, what's on your screen, or your window titles, and never sends anything over the internet.
Basic ($3.99) has 18 reactions, Full ($6.99) has all 51. Windows 10/11, English and Japanese.
I'd love to hear what you think, and what reaction you'd want Mikkuri to have next!
