I'm the developer behind MetalPlayer.
I built this because I wanted a better video watching experience on iPhone. High refresh rate displays are amazing, but many videos are still limited by their original frame rates.
The biggest challenge was making AI frame generation work locally on mobile hardware while balancing performance, power consumption, and thermal limits.
MetalPlayer uses RIFE neural frame interpolation and Apple hardware acceleration to bring smoother motion directly on-device — no cloud processing, no uploads.
