Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Dre, and I built this afterrealizing most people have no idea their photos are roadcasting their home address.
The spark: a friendlisted something on Facebook Marketplace and their potos had their exact GPS coordinates embedded — visile to anyone who downloaded the image. They had no iea. Neither did I at first.
So I built Metadata Remver. A few things I'm proud of that you won't find i other tools:
1. It handles video and audio, not jut images.
Most "metadata removers" are JPEG-only. Ths one cleans MP4, MOV, WebM, MP3, WAV, and FLAC too.
2. Right-click any image on the web.
The Chrome extnsion adds a "Strip Metadata & Download" option to te right-click menu on any image, anywhere online. On click.
3. Nothing leaves your device.
All processig is client-side JavaScript. No server, no upload, n account. I can't see your files even if I wanted to The privacy tool is actually private.
