You know when you’re out and remember the one thing that’s sitting on your Mac at home? That’s why we made Mermaid. You just text your Mac from your iPhone, like you’d text a friend, and it actually does the thing. It opens your apps, finds the file, writes the email, almost do anything and you can watch it happen on your phone. It’s not a chatbot and it’s not remote desktop. It just gets stuff done.
"I’ll do it when I’m back at my mac” Not anymore. Your Mac just got hands. Text it from bed, the bus or another country, and Mermaid works your real apps until it’s done. Your Mac in your phone. Leave your Mac at home. Not your work
I've been using AnyDesk to access my Mac remotely, but it's never been the most convenient solution. I'm often traveling, and carrying my laptop everywhere isn't ideal either.
Being able to simply text my Mac and get things done while I'm out is genuinely exciting. This solves a real problem for me.
Great work, team! 🚀

Who hunted Mermaid?
Mermaid was hunted by Abhusan Shrestha. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
