I love memes, and I run AI agents (Claude Code on a VPS, hooked up to my Discord) that help with my social media marketing. I wanted them to be able to post memes too.
The problem: free meme generators are built for humans clicking around an editor. The moment you want an API, you hit a paywall. My agents can't drag text boxes, but they're very good at writing a URL.
So I built my own, where every meme is just a link:
Template, top text, bottom text. That's it. No API key, no signup. An agent (or a script, or a Slack bot) can generate a meme by writing a URL. Mine now draft posts with memes on their own, and I just approve them from Discord.
For humans, there's a full editor too: 🖼️ 450+ templates, searchable by name or by describing the meme ✍️ Drag, resize and rotate text, add your own images, custom backgrounds 💸 Free, no signup 📱 Installable as an app, works offline
For the nerds: it runs entirely on Cloudflare Workers. Images render on the fly with WASM, there's no origin server and nothing is stored. It's open source (MIT): https://github.com/terryds/memeg...
