Hi Product Hunt, I'm Ingvaras, solo founder of Melodician. I also run Rare Personas. Every chord site gives you the same thing: a static picture of six lines and a few dots. It tells you where to put your fingers and stops there. It never tells you what the chord is meant to sound like, so you have no way to know whether what came out of your hands was right, or which string was the one buzzing. So I built Melodician around that one gap: - Every diagram plays. Tap it to strum the whole chord, or tap a single string to hear just that note, which is how you find the string that is muted. - The audio is recorded acoustic guitar, not a synth beep. - 116 chord pages so far, 329 voicings between them, including easier versions of the shapes that need a barre. - 190 songs that actually use these chords, each with the real recording, so a chord stops being an abstraction. - A left-handed toggle that mirrors every diagram and remembers it next time. - Every page prints as a clean black and white chart. No account, no email, no signup wall, no popups. All of it is free. Some song cards link out to a lesson site for anyone who wants to learn the whole song, and that is how I plan to pay for this. Guitar is live now. Piano, ukulele and bass are next, with the same diagrams and the same audio. The audio is what I would most like feedback on. Does the chord sound like your guitar? Is one string per tap the right way to hunt down a buzz, or would you want something else there? And if any shape or song looks wrong to you, please say so. I would rather fix it than defend it.
