Docs built for the agent era. Mdocs is an open-source, real-time Markdown editor. The same document, live in your browser and your terminal. Collaborate like Google Docs. Pull, edit, and push from the command line like git. A first-class CLI for your agents, a doc editor for your team, and one living document between them.
I built this because I needed a lightweight Markdown editor that worked naturally with AI agents.
I kept finding myself searching for a docs platform that agents could reliably use alongside my workflow, whether that was Linear for projects, Notion, Google Docs, or something else. But none of them ever felt quite right. They were either too heavy, too opinionated, or not built for consistent agent interaction.
So I decided to build something simple that worked the way I wanted, a place where I can write Markdown files like docs, keep my context clean, and let my agents pull from and interact with those files directly.
