MC Pixel Art
Photo to Minecraft blocks, with 3D preview & build order
Upload any photo and get a Minecraft block-by-block build plan, matched in perceptual color space (not raw RGB), previewed in 3D with click-to-inspect blocks, played back step-by-step in build order, and exportable straight into WorldEdit or Litematica. 100% browser-side, free, no signup.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built this because every image-to-Minecraft converter I tried had the same three problems: color matching was visibly wrong in shadows and skin tones, the block palette hadn't been updated since ~1.16, and the output was just a flat PNG you had to eyeball while building.
MC Pixel Art fixes all three:
- Colors matched in OKLab perceptual space instead of raw RGB, noticeably better in dark and skin-tone areas
- Block palette versioned up to the current 26.2
- An interactive 3D preview, click any block to see its exact name and coordinate
- A step-by-step playback mode that reveals blocks in real placement order (bottom to top), so you can actually follow along while building instead of guessing
- Direct .schem / .litematic export for WorldEdit and Litematica, plus a material list grouped in stacks of 64
- A survival-mode filter that limits the plan to blocks you can actually farm or mine
Everything runs client-side in a Web Worker, your photo never touches a server, and it keeps working offline. Free, no signup, no watermark.
Would love feedback, especially from anyone who's built pixel art in survival mode before, what's the most annoying part of that process for you today?
