I built Markist because I was tired of habit trackers that needed my email, an account, and a cloud connection just to log a glass of water.
Markist is built on these principles:
- No servers, no accounts, no sign-up. Open the app and start tracking.
- Your data is plain markdown files. Not a locked database — actual text files you can open in any editor, back up anywhere, and take with you forever.
- Track literally anything. Habits, workouts, meals, sleep, baby feedings, mood, water intake — or create your own custom tracker with flexible field types and 100+ units.
Everything stays on your device. The only optional external connection is end-to-end encrypted iCloud sync (disabled by default). No analytics, no third-party SDKs, no tracking of any kind. Your App Store privacy label has a clean "No" across every single data category.
