I built Market Matador because of my own experience in school.
Like a lot of people, I played "the stock market game" in high school. We had two weeks, a fake $100k budget, and zero idea what we were actually doing. Most of us just picked a couple of household brands, got lucky (or didn't), and forgot everything the moment the unit ended. It didn't teach us how to manage risk, build wealth, or understand the market.
Worse, standard stock simulators look like financial spreadsheets. To a kid, managing a grid of stock tickers feels like doing extra homework.
I wanted to build something kids would actually want to keep playing, while learning real money habits along the way. So, we turned stock market mechanics into a collectible trading card game.
How Market Matador works:
🃏 Share Cards: Every card represents 1 real share of stock from 28 kid-friendly companies (like Apple, Nike, Tesla, and Disney).
🎯 Player Challenges: Instead of wild gambling, kids play daily and weekly challenges that teach consistency, diversification, and long-term planning.
💵 Earn & Collect: Winning challenges pays out virtual cash, which players use to open card packs, grow their holdings, and climb the leaderboard.
