Margin is a planner that lives in the macOS menu bar. Press ⌥Space, type a line like "team sync tomorrow 3pm to 4pm" or "call the clinic at half past four", and it's saved as a real reminder or calendar event in Apple's own apps — so it's on your iPhone too. The parsing happens on your Mac; there's no account and no server.
The other half is the day itself, docked to the edge of the screen: every hour as a card, a line on the current minute, and your free time visible. Drag a task to any quarter hour, or hold Control while dragging for a magnifier and five-minute steps.
New in 2.0, out today:
• Pull the thread. Drag down from the capture bar and a timer comes out on the end of it. Hold ⌘ while pulling and it's a four-session pomodoro, breaks included.
• Sessions hold tasks. Drop a task into a session — or into several — and drag it back out when you change your mind.
• Focus. One ring for the run, the task in the middle, with Done, +5 minutes and Stop.
• Inbox. Anything captured without a day waits there until you give it a time.
• Search. Find any reminder or event by name and jump to the day it sits on.
• Plus a warning 5–30 minutes before a meeting, a proper month picker, and other people's calendars shown as coloured stripes beside your day.
