Hey Product Hunt 👋
For the last 10 days I’ve basically been obsessed with building MakerMap.
It started with a simple thought:
The people building the future are everywhere.
They’re launching products, sharing ideas, meeting people and creating things every day. But there was never really a way to see that world.
So I wanted to map it.
MakerMap now has 4,000+ makers and products you can explore around the world.
You can search things like:
→ “AI founders in Lisbon”
→ “Twitter tools”
→ “gym bros in Lisbon”
→ “designers building iOS apps”
Every maker also gets a living profile showing what they’re building, where they are, their posts, activity, growth and more.
But my favorite thing so far isn’t actually a feature.
People have already started finding each other through MakerMap and arranging to meet IRL.
That’s exactly what I hoped would happen.
MakerMap might genuinely be the coolest project I’ve ever built for fun. I’ve poured an absurd amount of craft and creativity into every little interaction, animation and detail.
And we’re only getting started.

Great launch..couldn't find you on X.. still great connecting makers.. good wishes..
searched my own handle and got "you're not on the map yet, introduce yourself on X" which turns an empty result into a CTA instead of a dead end, nice touch. also didn't expect actual boats sailing around the ocean tiles lol, is that just decoration or tied to sponsors? one thing I couldn't figure out: what actually drives the points number next to each maker, is it just X engagement or something on-platform too
Every maker directory I've seen goes stale because people fill out a profile once and never touch it again. How does a profile stay current?
The amount of work Martijn is putting into MakerMap to bring us makers together is incredible. His response times to feedback are incredible and ideas are often implemented in near real time.

There are so many makers scattered across different platforms that having place to discover them could be genuinely useful. Curious how you handle duplicate profiles when someone builds multiple products.
