Trust is good. Tagging is better. Automatically tag your email using Plus Addressing or Catch-All method. No manual effort – everything’s saved to history so you can see who’s behind unwanted spam (if you receive it to that tagged mail).

🧠 I heard about “email tagging”
through my brother-in-law.
At first, I thought, okay, sounds interesting – let me try it.
👉🏻 So I started tagging my email with “+” in daily life to track
where I used it.
❓ (e.g.: you wanna signup on google.com and your mail is [email protected], now you sign in with [email protected] -> all incoming mails will still show up on [email protected] BUT if you get spammy messages you look into the recipient, and if there is "....+google@..." you know who sold your data)
✅ Turns out: It actually worked.
I realized who was sharing or selling my email based on spam I received.
❌ But doing it manually was annoying.
I had to remember all my tag names, write them down, and it was easy to lose track.
So I thought:
🛠️ There must be an easier way – maybe some automation.
❗️I asked ChatGPT how to build something like that.
It suggested a Chrome Extension – since I use Chrome daily.
Then Claude AI helped me build the first prototype/ MVP.
💡 I posted the idea on Reddit
...and the feedback was 🔥
(the Original post:

🤔 One user said:
“I already use a Catch-All domain – it looks more native and bypasses ‘+’ filters.”
👉🏼 So I added a Catch-All Mode
(will replace the current version, it's on approval after I published the 1.0. version, finally, today)
🐍 MailSnitch was born.
Now I can auto-tag emails, auto-fill forms, track everything in history, and export it anytime (via email, CSV, copy-paste...)
💚 This was just a simple MVP I used privately –
now it’s real, thanks to AI and real feedback from the community.
It’s 100% free – and will stay free - forever.
I’d love to hear your feedback and ideas ❤️
Haha, love the sneaky snake in the logo—feels like it’s ready to hunt down those spammy culprits and never let go! 🐍 Definitely giving this a try. Big congrats on the launch!
Haha, great idea! You could create a blacklist of companies that sell customer data. 😄
pretty cool tool. this wouldn't work on a Google sign in though right? I was a little confused when you used Google as an example, bc my first thought was when I create new accounts using my Google account. But I don't think it works that way. But useful for sites that don't offer the sign up via Google Acct option
MailSnitch sounds like a clever way to effortlessly track where your email is being used and quickly spot if your data has been sold or shared, with the added bonus of automation to save time! How do you envision expanding its features to help users even more in managing their privacy?
No way.
The Logo, the name, everything about this is great - I LOATHE email spam so it's really hitting a pain point in my eyes!!
You've nailed it Engin, thanks for this & best of luck today!!
I am overwhelmed! 😍 To be honest, I thought the idea was too simple or too tiny to even get an upvote. I'm happy. The catchall feature is coming online in the next few days, it's submitted to the Chrome Web Store. Any other ideas? 💚
