Hello Hunters!
Let’s talk about the 'mailto' problem. We’ve all been there: you’re in the middle of a workflow—maybe in a CRM, a directory, or a project tool—you click an email link, and suddenly your focus is gone. You’re either waiting for a heavy mail app to load or navigating back and forth between tabs.
The truth is that mailto: links are often broken by default because they don't account for the way we actually work in the browser today.
I built this solution to treat email as a 'layer' of the web rather than a destination. By using direct API integrations with Gmail and Outlook, we can now send messages, use templates, and manage signatures right where the link lives.
We’re live and looking for feedback on the editor experience and the template gallery. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Who hunted MailLayer?
MailLayer was hunted by Corey Burns. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
