Hey, Danish here 👋 This is Maillayer v2.0, a self-hosted Mailchimp alternative that’s truly yours. I built it because email marketing shouldn’t cost hundreds every month or restrict you to one domain. With Maillayer, you buy once, host yourself, and send unlimited emails forever, powered by Amazon SES at just $0.10 per 1,000 emails. When running my projects like Iconbuddy and SuperDevPro, I struggled to find a tool that was affordable, flexible, and privacy-friendly. Most platforms charged per contact or domain, so I built Maillayer for founders, marketers, and indie teams who want full control over their email infrastructure without recurring costs. Today, over 200 teams use Maillayer to send newsletters, transactional emails, and automations with a clean dashboard and powerful features: 📨 Email Campaigns 🌍 Geographic Insights 👥 Contact Management 🔗 Integrations 🌐 Custom Domain ⚙️ AWS Powered 🧩 Template Editor 📊 Event Tracking ✅ Brand Verification 📈 Performance Stats 🎨 Custom Branding 📦 Bulk Operations ⏱️ Real-time Analytics 📁 Multi-file Upload 🔥 Domain Warmup 💌 Transactional API 🗓️ Post Scheduler 🔄 Auto-Sync List If you’ve ever felt trapped by subscriptions or platform lock-ins, you’ll love Maillayer. Check it out at maillayer.com 💌

If we self-host this, do we get access to the code? will it be a github repo? how does this work?

Looks awesome! I'll give it a spin once React Email and tag / segmentation support are available.

Congrats on the launch, Danish! 🎉🎉🎉

The one-time payment model is such a breath of fresh air. I've been burned by email marketing subscriptions before – watching costs climb as your list grows is painful.

$0.10 per 1,000 emails via Amazon SES is incredibly competitive, and the fact that you built this from your own pain points with Iconbuddy and SuperDevPro really shows in the feature set. The domain warmup feature is especially nice for anyone serious about deliverability.

Really cool, love the self-hosted + SES combo!
Owning your email stack without subscriptions is huge for indie teams.
Curious how Maillayer handles warmup and deliverability at scale?

Hey @mddanishyusuf, congrats on launching Maillayer! 🚀 Your approach to domain warmup is brilliant—I really appreciate how it gradually increases sending volume to build reputation and ensure deliverability. The self-hosted model with one-time payment is a game-changer for founders tired of recurring email costs. Excited to see where you take this next. Best of luck with today's launch!

Love the concept of email marketing without subscriptions! As a UI/UX designer who's worked with 200+ products, I'm curious: how did you design the pricing UX to make "pay as you go" feel transparent and trustworthy compared to the familiar subscription model? That shift in mental model is always tricky for users. Congrats on the launch!

Sending 10,000 acceptable emails for $1 is truly insane. The key point is "acceptable," because many times our marketing emails end up in the spam folder!

I remember we used many email sending service APIs, but either the frequency was limited or the blocking rate was too high. We often failed to effectively reach users, let alone get them to click.

Of course, the email content is also a key factor in whether it ends up in spam. I wonder if Maillayer has implemented any optimizations for this?

Congrats with the launch! If someone buys lifetime license, the updates are included anyway or the person should update it himself?

We don't need a new email client; we need a smarter way to interact with the one we have. Framing it as a 'layer' on top of Gmail is a genius move for adoption. If this works as promised, it could fundamentally change my relationship with email.

Good luck with the launch Mohd!

I've been an early customer of Maillayer, and I love the product (especially the v2 launch). The best self-hosted email solution!

I have been using Maillayer since day one of it's release and it has been the best self-hosted alternative out there. Mohd works on all of his SaaS's with a passion, and with the constant improvements of Maillayer it's a 100% recommendations!

@mddanishyusuf Nice one. I love the lifetime licence. Best f luck!
