Top comment

I built Mail Attachment Lens after I started running close to Google’s free storage limit. Google’s storage manager showed that Gmail was the biggest chunk of my storage usage, but Gmail didn’t give me a convenient way to browse all my attachments as files.
I wanted to see them in one place, filter and sort them, download anything worth keeping, and move emails I no longer needed to Trash. While testing it, I also found quite a few attachments I had completely forgotten about.
The extension is available for Chrome and Firefox. It is free and open source, and there is no application backend. Gmail data is processed locally between the extension and Google.
I would be interested to hear whether this solves a problem you have too, and what filters or attachment-management features are still missing.
