Welcome! I started Macro because, as a researcher, I found it hard to read lots of PDFs on a computer screen and didn't like how they're not interactive or editable.

Macro makes reading documents on a computer screen amazing. We've always found it difficult to read and take notes on PDFs, and thought it was silly the "pro" pdf tools cost $30/month!
Macro is free for individuals and has a paid business plan with some additional tools.
I'm excited to check it out, but I'm stunned at the size of the program: 817 MB on disc. The PDF editor I currently use on macOS in comparison is 4.1 MB. Your app is so big I'm genuinely wondering what exactly I'm installing and if it's coming with something else I might not want. 🤔
What a lifesaver editor it sounds like! I am a tech researcher and I totally understand the pain of going through non-interactive pdfs, but pheww, your solution totally deserves a shot!✌🏼✌🏼

Looks really cool. One feature that acrobat has and I never see other pdf tools have it - is e-sign verification. Does it have this feature / do you plan on adding it to the roadmap?
Great stuff, features below are cool:
1. showing cross-referential content upon clicking the word(s)
2. new tab of the same doc for comparison
3. pin specific sections and they are exportable
4. crossing linking contents of diffferent PDF together

Hi Jacob, Great product. First thing which came to my mind is its application for research students. University level licence can be a big thing.
I always struggle with organizing and noting PDF files. So the ability to click on figures and sections to preview it is ingenious. Such a time saver.
In the demonstation video, you shows documents being interconnected somehow with the pip pop ups. Is this available in the free version too? Does that mean it picks references from the documents and connects them by itself? Will this work in any document or only structured documents like legal docs?

Any plans to add AI features to summarize sections? I sometimes (god forbid) have to read through legal contracts for Retool's customers. As a non-legal person, I'd love a quick summary.
you mention AI Search but chatgpt is not integrated it. You also mention it works offline. Then AI works locally? Can you explain what yu mean AI search in absence of chatgpt integration
