Macoui
Free routing with weather, wave and current models
Macoui helps sailors compare atmospheric, wave and current forecast models, calculate isochrone routes with their own boat polar, and use MBTiles charts offline. It runs on the web, iOS and Android, so passage planning can continue beyond cellular coverage. Tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLK4tCK8I2PjspR8nBb1yXlhjYKbxOoiwM
Before a passage, we kept ending up with weather files in one tool, boat polars in another, and charts somewhere else, then losing connectivity offshore.
So we built one place to:
- compare atmospheric models including GFS, ECMWF, ICON, AROME and ARPEGE - compare wave and current forecast models along the route - calculate isochrone routes with your own boat polar - review wind, gusts, waves, currents, clouds and temperature over time - import MBTiles charts and keep working offline after downloading GRIB files - plan from the web, iOS or Android
Macoui is free. It is a passage-planning aid, not a replacement for official charts or sound seamanship.
The feedback we care about is practical... what would make your next passage easier to prepare?
I’ll be here to answer questions.

Macoui was hunted by Sailing Macoui. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
