MacAway
Locks your Mac when you walk away, no app on your phone
MacAway sits in your menu bar and does one thing: it locks your Mac when you walk away. Setup takes a minute. Pick the iPhone or Apple Watch you already carry, and you are done. Nothing to install on the phone, no account, nothing to tune. The menu says in plain words whether you are protected, and one switch pauses it when you want to stay put. If it ever locks while you are still there, it tells you why and offers the one fix. 14 days free, then $14 once for all your Macs.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
My colleagues kept leaving their laptops unlocked when they walked away for coffee or calls. To fix this, I built MacAway.
It watches for the iPhone or Apple Watch in your pocket and locks the screen seconds after you step away. I designed it so the Mac does all the work—no phone app needed.
Pricing is simple: 14 days free, then a one-time $14 fee for all your Macs. Let me know what you think!
