lurk watches Reddit and X for people asking for a product like yours, scores each post with a one-line reason, and sends new ones to email, Slack, Discord or a webhook. Also finds the Reddit threads Google ranks for you. Free and open source.
Hey Product Hunt, Kevin here.
The pattern is always the same. Someone posts "is there an alternative to Calendly that just does round-robin?" The first two or three people who reply with something useful get the click. By the next morning the thread is done.
I kept refreshing searches to catch those, so I built lurk. You paste your URL, it works out who buys and where they post, then watches Reddit and X and tells you, in one sentence, why each post is worth your time. Every post is read by Jev before it reaches you. New leads go to your inbox, Slack or Discord.
A few things I care about:
- It's free. There's no plan to buy.
- It's MIT-licensed. `docker compose up` and there are no limits at all.
- It never posts or drafts replies for you. It finds the conversation; the words are yours.
It's Hypership Day, so tell me what's missing and I'll try to ship it today.
What does it find for your product? I want to hear about the bad leads too.
The "first useful reply wins" thing is so true for these threads. Liking that every lead comes with a one-line reason, keyword alerts alone turn into noise after a couple days.
This seems really cool! It looks like you shipped with 3 alternative designs for the marketing site, potentially a leftover AI artifact?
Also, we can only offer it for free because of how cheap we serve this social data on AnyAPI and classification/scoring made possible by Jev

Who hunted lurk?
lurk was hunted by Kevin Wang. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
