Lunica makes bedtime the easiest way for kids to pick up a second language. Each narrated story sprinkles in new-language words inside a story kids already understand — so they absorb it naturally. No screens, just listening as they wind down. Stories are personalized with your child's name, so they're the hero. Plus short "big feelings" stories for emotions like worry and confidence, and calming dream sounds to drift off to. All built for bedtime, ages 3–8.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Aleksei, the solo maker behind Lunica — building it from Estonia, the little country that somehow gave the world Skype, Wise, Pipedrive and Bolt. Lunica is a bedtime app with a twist: kids fall asleep to calm, narrated stories — and quietly pick up a second language while they listen. No screens, no drills, just a voice in the dark like the bedtime stories we grew up with. That twist comes straight out of my own family. I was born in Estonia, but our home language is Russian — and my kids speak Russian at home while attending kindergarten in Estonian. Watching them grow up between two languages, I saw something amazing: they don't "study" the second language, they just absorb it, one word at a time, from the world around them. So I built that into the stories. Each one is narrated in a language kids already understand and sprinkles in new-language words as it goes — so they pick up a second language naturally, just by listening at bedtime. The other half came from my daughter. She listens to stories on YouTube every night and always wants her toys or her favorite cartoon character to be the hero. So in Lunica, every story is personalized with your child's name — they ARE the hero. There are also two things I'm really proud of: "Big feelings" stories — this part came from my wife, who's always had a gift for explaining the hard questions our daughter asks: fear of the dark, big worries, feeling shy. These short, gentle talks help kids understand their own feelings in a way that actually makes sense to them. Dream sounds — calming soundscapes to drift off to. Honestly, even adults use them. I'd genuinely love your feedback — on the idea and on how I've built it. Does this solve a real problem for your family? What works, what's missing, what would you change? And one thing I especially need help with: the language choices are still limited (now have russian-english and english-spanish pairs avaiable), so tell me what languages are spoken in your house and which one you'd want your kid to pick up. Thanks for checking it out 🙏 PH exclusive: 3 months of Lunica Premium, free. Tap below (code PRODUCTHUNT auto-fills) — first 500, through July 20: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ct...

love that the kid is the hero of their own story, that personalization is such a clever hook for keeping them hooked at bedtime
