LowScout
Find recurring charges and catch the ones that change
LowScout finds the recurring money hiding in your accounts — forgotten subscriptions, annual renewals, price increases, and charges you don't recognize — then keeps watching. A deterministic engine reads your real transactions and names every recurring charge with its evidence, your exact monthly and yearly totals, and what's coming up. Mark a charge canceled and if it appears again, LowScout surfaces it. Two ways in, neither required: connect a bank read-only, or upload a PDF or CSV statement.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm the founder of LowScout — it's a one-person company, so you're talking to the person who wrote the code.
LowScout came out of a question I couldn't answer off the top of my head: what am I actually paying every month in recurring charges, and which ones crept up without me noticing? The forgotten free trial that turned into a subscription, the annual renewal that surprises you, the price that quietly went from $15.99 to $18.99, the charge that came back after you thought you'd canceled it. LowScout's whole job is to find that recurring money and then keep an eye on it.
How it works:
1) It reads your real transactions and does exact arithmetic — no AI guessing at your numbers. Every recurring charge is named with the evidence behind it, plus your true monthly and yearly totals, price increases and cadence changes, annual renewals, and what's coming up next.
2) You bring your data whichever way you prefer — connect a bank or card read-only (you sign in at your bank; LowScout never sees your bank password), or download a PDF/CSV statement and upload it. Neither is required; both feed the same analysis.
3) It's honest about limits. It won't cancel things for you — it gives you guided steps and you do the cancellation. It won't claim a cancellation "worked." What it will do: if you mark a charge canceled and it shows up again later, LowScout surfaces it.
Free needs no card and gives you the full reading on statements you upload. Plus ($8.99/month) is for people who'd rather not keep uploading — connect up to 2 financial institutions and LowScout keeps the picture current automatically as new transactions arrive.
A few things I deliberately haven't built yet, and say so in-app: spending categories and trends, income detection, budgets, an emailed report, and an AI summary (it's off until a provider's data terms clear my bar — no retention, no training on your data).
Try it without signing up — the demo runs the real engine on clearly labeled sample data → https://lowscout.com/demo
I'd love your honest feedback, especially this: if a bank's statement won't parse, tell me the bank and I'll prioritize getting it supported. Thanks for taking a look. 🙏
