I built Lova because most wedding planning software isn't really built for the couple. The big free planners are funded by vendor marketplaces — the app is the storefront, and the checklist is what gets you through the door. You end up with notifications nudging you to book vendors you've already booked, and the seating chart sitting behind a separate paywall.
I wanted the opposite: something you pay for once, that then just works for you. No ads, no vendor pitches, nothing still charging you after the day.
Two things I care about most:
- The AI actually knows your wedding. It reads your real checklist, budget and guest list before it answers. Ask "what should we do this week" or "where is our budget tight" and you get an answer about your wedding, not a generic chat about weddings in general.
- It's calm on purpose. No streaks, no engagement loops. Reminders only for real deadlines. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without an app adding to it.
On the name: Lova is Norwegian. *Å love seg bort* means to pledge yourself away — the old phrase for getting engaged. The app is for the season between the promise and the day it's kept.
