I'm a player in a Curse of Strahd campaign that's 36 sessions deep, and the designated note taker, which means I own a pile of spiral notebooks, a Discord log, and a graveyard of sticky notes. Around session ten someone asked who a returning NPC was and why we owed him a favor. Nobody knew. The answer turned out to be spread across three notebooks.
I tried Google Docs, Obsidian, and other note apps, and I set up a proper wiki once and it lasted about two sessions before keeping it updated became its own homework. So I built Lorevia on nights and weekends: you paste in your session notes, as messy as they actually are, and it drafts wiki pages for the NPCs, places, quests, and factions it finds, plus a "story so far" recap.
The rules I built it around, because they matter to me as a player too: it only works from what you actually wrote, it will not invent NPCs or events that didn't happen. Nothing becomes canon on its own, you approve, edit, or reject every page. Your campaign stays yours, your notes are never used to train anything, and you can export or delete everything whenever you want.
