LogGate Frame
MetalFX upscaling for Mac filmmakers — $19.99 intro
Filmmakers shooting Log have incredible dynamic range — but converting that flat footage still means expensive software, slow exports, and time you don't have. LogGate Frame changes this. Native Mac app. MetalFX GPU upscaling on your M-series chip — on-device, no subscription, no cloud. CineD reviewed it at launch (May 2026). Intro price: $19.99 through July — doubles after. → loggate.tech
Hey PH — one of the makers behind LogGate Frame here.
Why we built this: I was on a shoot convinced Apple Log would give me everything I needed in post. Got home, pulled the footage, and spent 45 minutes trying to make it look like what I saw on location. The Log conversion workflow on Mac was fractured — DaVinci, custom LUTs, waiting on exports, losing the day.
We built Frame to fix that. MetalFX was the breakthrough — Apple's GPU acceleration on M-series chips is genuinely powerful, and nobody had used it for Log conversion this way. CineD reviewed it at launch and validated we'd landed on something real.
Curious from this community:
- What Log workflows are you running today?
- What output format do you most need? (ProRes, H.265, specific color profiles?)
- Is $19.99 intro pricing a clear yes, or is there something that gives you pause?
