Local Photo Restore
Make old family photos clearer, privately on your iPhone
Local Photo Restore improves clarity and resolution in old, faded, yellowed, or low-resolution family photos without uploading them. Choose a photo or photograph a print, enhance it, adjust yellow tint and faded existing color, compare before and after, and save a new copy. The original stays untouched. There is no account, photo-processing server, advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking. This first release does not colorize black-and-white photos or reconstruct scratches and damage.
I built Local Photo Restore because family photos are irreplaceable, and I did not want restoring one to mean uploading it or letting an app invent a different face. The first version focuses on a smaller promise: improve clarity, reduce yellow tint, bring back faded existing color, and always keep the original.

Local Photo Restore was hunted by David Balderston.
