I built this free llms.txt generator because creating the file sounds simple until you start working through the actual formatting, organizing URLs into useful sections, retrieving titles and descriptions, and checking that every entry follows the current llmstxt.org specification.

The generator also distinguishes between critical errors, warnings, opportunities, and confirmed passes. That makes it clearer whether the file is actually incomplete or whether an optional improvement is simply available.
One important caveat: publishing an llms.txt file does not guarantee that ChatGPT, Claude, Google, or any other system will read it, cite the site, or improve its visibility. The tool handles the file’s structure and formatting. It cannot replace the quality, usefulness, and accessibility of the content behind those links.
