It was actually because I sent out a cold email campaign with the wrong data…
So every single prospect in the campaign was addressed by the wrong first name.
I'd just spent more than 4 hours formatting a list of leads for a cold email campaign for one of my agency clients.
Cleaning the data line by line...
FINALLY hit start on the campaign,
And was ready to start booking calls.
I checked the inbox just to make sure everything was looking good, when my heart sunk...
The very first email we sent out used the subject, "Quick question, Andrew"
But the prospect's name was Jeff.
I knew it immediately.
I deleted part of a row in my spreadsheet, so some of the data shifted down a row, but others stayed where they were...
So when we launched the emails, every single email we sent out had incorrect text replacements.
This is how our idea for ListKit was born.
Why am I spending hours at a time formatting spreadsheets, verifying emails, and doing a bunch of grunt work to grow my agency...
Just to have ALL of it go to waste anyways because one row got shifted up?
So I sat down, systemized this entire process, and the ListKit SaaS was born in July 2023.

I've been using ListKit for a few months now and there are a few great things about their software and service.
1. Customer service is on top of any support questions I have quickly and always answer my questions
2. They're great at community building, you get a lot of insight into the outreach world.
3. Probably most important, the data is great and easy to pull.
4. They added on verification, doing triple verified checks on your emails which is great! I switched my checking over to them.
Highly recommend checking it out, and getting on a plan.
I'm excited to try ListKit and see if it delivers on its promise of accurate data.

I have been using Listkit for 6+ months now, and it makes it super easy to build lead lists for my cold email campaigns. I target E-commerce companies, and I love that I am able to filter the leads by technology and target companies that use Shopify.
