Listen Party makes it easy to share songs, albums, and playlists with friends using Apple Music and Spotify. So regardless of what platform you and your friends use you can easily share, discover, and listen to music together. No ads, no algorithm, and free.
Excited to share Listen Party. This is something I've wanted to exist for a long time now. I used to share music in text threads with friends which was clunky and challenging since no one used the same service. Trying to go back and find what they shared later was always a mess. Keeping everyone in the same app makes sharing and connecting about music simple and easy.
Anyone remember Rdio? I still haven't found anything close, and this is my attempt to bring it back. Music has always been a big part of my life and it's what led me to design. I'd sit in my room listening to music for hours while poring over album artwork. I was in bands throughout high school and college making gig posters, websites, and merch. This app feels like a great combination of music and design that I enjoy so much.
Best things about the app: • No ads or algorithm, chronological feed • Share to a feed with just friends or everyone • Connect services you already use, starting with Apple Music and Spotify • Easily add music to your collection • Create playlists and collaborate with friends • Free (completely optional FAN subscription to help with costs, nothing gated)
For the best experience, connect to services to play full songs (otherwise 30 sec preview). Also, invite friends to share music together. It is a social app after all.
Another plus I haven't mentioned is how much new music I've discovered using the app. Since people are sharing their favs the feed is super eclectic. It's another great way to find new music even if you don't want to post your own.
