Linger
Save Instagram view-once photos & DMs on Mac and PC
Keep every photo, video and voice message people send you in your DMs, including view-once and disappearing media while it's still available. Save one by one, a whole chat at once, or turn on auto-save and let Linger do it. Read and reply from a real desktop inbox, save stories and reels, schedule messages and search your whole history. Everything stays on your computer: no servers, no account, your password never stored. Free for 14 days with no card, then €4.99/month.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Quico, the maker of Linger.
I built Linger because I found annoying that I could not see my view-once images or videos on my computer.
Reading DMs on a computer was also more awkward than it should be, so Linger does both: a proper desktop inbox, and a way to keep the photos, videos and voice messages people send you, even view-once photos and videos can be saved..
A few things I care about:
🔒 Private by design. Your messages, media and login stay on your computer. Linger has no servers and no account of its own, and your password is never stored. I never see your messages.
⚡ Auto-save. Turn it on and new media, disappearing photos and videos included, is saved by itself while Linger runs.
🕐 Scheduled messages. Write now, send later. Your computer just needs to be on with Linger running.
📸 Save stories, highlights, posts and reels. Browse and save them for any public account, or private ones you follow, including every photo of a carousel.
It's designed for keeping what's been sent to you. Please respect other people's privacy!
I'd love your feedback: what's missing, what's confusing, what you'd use it for. I'll be here all day answering questions. 🙏

Linger was hunted by Quico Domingo. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
