LexScan
Read any contract like a $500/hr lawyer — in 30 seconds
Paste a contract → get a legal memo with red flags, severity scores, and negotiation tips. Plain English in, structured output out. 5 free analyses, then $9 for 50. No subscription. No signup. Open-source runtime under the hood.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Jonny, the maker behind LexScan.
The honest backstory: I kept watching friends sign contracts they hadn't read — leases, freelance terms, SaaS subscriptions with 90-day auto-renewals — because hiring a lawyer for a 4-page document costs more than the document is worth.
So I built LexScan as a $9 second opinion. Paste any contract (or just describe your situation in plain English — "my landlord says rent goes up 40% next month"), and a 4-stage AI pipeline pulls it apart: extracts clauses, scores severity, flags red flags, and writes a senior-counsel-style memo with what to do next.
A few things that make it different:
→ **Pay once.** $9 buys 50 analyses. No subscription, no card on file. Credits don't expire.
→ **No signup for the first 5.** Try it before you decide.
→ **Open-source runtime.** The 4-stage contract-checked pipeline (deed-edge) is MIT — if you want to verify what's happening under the hood, the kernel is on GitHub.
→ **Plain language in.** You don't need to paste legal text. "My contractor wants 50% upfront and won't sign a change order clause" — that works.
What I'd love feedback on:
1. **Which legal use cases would you actually pay for?** Leases? SaaS? Freelance? Employment offers? I'm using PH signal to decide which vertical to build deeper templates for next.
2. **The free-tier limit at 5** — too generous, too tight, or right?
3. **Output format.** Memo + red flags + priority actions — what's missing?
LexScan is not legal advice (not a lawyer, not a substitute for one when stakes are real). But it's the structured second opinion I wish I'd had every time I almost-signed something dumb.
