Hey everyone! I'm Taisei, a Japanese developer learning English.
I watch YouTube and Netflix in English. Whenever I came across a new word or expression, I'd add it to a spreadsheet with its meaning and an example sentence. But building that spreadsheet took longer than watching the video itself. I wanted to spend my time actually learning English, not making flashcards.
So I built Lexpresso. You set your CEFR level range, click one button on any YouTube or Netflix video, and it extracts only the words that match your level — with definitions, paraphrases, translations, example sentences, and timestamps linking back to the exact moment in the video.
