The Inspiration: The inspiration for this project came shortly after India's DPDP Act 2023 was announced. As a developer and builder, I was overwhelmed by the sheer complexity of the new regulations and the massive penalties for non-compliance. I realized that while big corporations have entire legal teams, most startups and SMEs are left guessing if their privacy policies are actually compliant.
The Problem: Legal reviews are expensive and slow. I wanted to solve a simple but critical problem: How can we make enterprise-grade legal auditing accessible, instant, and actionable for everyone?
The Evolution: Initially, I thought about building a simple chatbot. But legal compliance requires 100% accuracy—hallucinations are not an option. My process evolved into building a tiered RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) engine. This ensures the AI doesn't "guess"; it actually retrieves the specific sections of the DPDP Act and maps your clauses directly to the law. What started as a simple checker turned into a full dashboard that generates 10-page remediation roadmaps and branded PDF reports.
