Almost every English word is one letter from another. CAT sits next to COT, next to COG. LOVE reaches HATE in three moves. The language is a network, and we wanted to walk around in it.
The problem was the games. Word games should be simple, and most of them stopped being about words energy timers, coin bundles, a subscription to remove friction someone added on purpose. We wanted something you can open for four minutes on a bus without being sold anything.
