Letter Runner
Destroy letters and words in space before they hit you
A pixel-art cat runs through space on a glowing energy beam. Neon letters and words fly toward you — type them to destroy them before they hit. Start with single letters, graduate to full words. Miss 3 and it's game over.
I built Letter Runner because I wanted a typing game that feels like an arcade. Something with rhythm and that "one more try" feeling.
The idea: what if Chrome's dino game required you to type instead of jump? A cat runs through space, neon letters fly at you — type them to destroy them.
The progression: • Levels 1-6: Single letters and short combos • Levels 7-9: Short words (cat, beam, neon, dash) • Levels 10+: Full words (space, laser, quantum, galaxy)
Features: • Each letter you type explodes off the word individually • Missing drops you a level and slows you down • Works instantly on mobile too (virtual keyboard)
Tech: Vanilla JS + Canvas. No framework. 38KB bundle. Loads in under 1 second.
