Hey everyone, The idea came from a video I wish I hadn't seen. A man had been filming women and children in public with a pair of camera glasses, then trading the footage online. Nobody around him knew. I'm a father, and I couldn't get past the simple part of it: none of those people had any way of knowing. That's the gap I wanted to close. Smart glasses are chatty. They broadcast over Bluetooth LE, continuously, to anything within range. That's how they pair with a phone. It also means they can be heard. LensAware listens. Your iPhone reads those signals and shows how close a pair is, across five steps, from somewhere in the distance to right next to you. The Apple Watch app does the same on your wrist, which is the version I end up using most. What it does not do matters as much. It never tells you a room is clear. No signal is not the same as no glasses, and an app that implies otherwise is lying to you. It also cannot tell you whether anyone is recording. It tells you a device is nearby, nothing more. That's the honest limit, and I wrote every screen around it. Nothing leaves the phone. No account, no server, no logs, no analytics. There is no backend to breach because there is no backend. Detection is free. The paid tier adds the extended radar and long-term history, but you never need it to know that glasses are near you. Knowing shouldn't be behind a paywall. I'd like to hear from people on both sides: those who wear the glasses, and those who found out afterwards that someone nearby did. What would you actually want to be told?
