After the launch of Process Zero from Halide, I thought it was interesting to discover that Leica, renowned for their hardware, found it necessary to launch an app for the iPhone, presumably because iPhone 16 devices are going to go hard at becoming a higher end photography device. The best camera is the one in your pocket as they say, no? But can this app really compete with expensive cameras? Some say no. https://youtube.com/watch?v=wpsI0S3XgKM What do you think?

Found the app by chance, pretty skeptical about how an app can match up to real cameras, honestly think Leica should stick to hardware, felt like a bit of a letdown, anyone else feeling the same?

Sure, it's cool that we've an app from such a big name in cameras, but does anyone really think an app can replace a good camera, seems more like a gimmick to me, what do you guys think

I get that Leica wants to jump into the smartphone era, but does the world need another photo app, didn't we already see countless attempts at this, sure the app aims to bring the iconic Leica look to our iPhones but can an app truly replace the art of using a physical camera, I doubt it

So Leicas making an app for iPhones now huh, kinda feels like they're stepping outta their comfort zone, does this mean they're finally realizing that more people are relying on their phones for photography instead of expensive cameras? maybe they should focus more on enhancing the app features for easier use rather than just chasing that iconic "Leica Look", what do you think?

Hey folks, so we got a new photo app from Leica, supposed to give you that iconic look on your iPhone, but seriously, do we need another app like this, do you think it really stands up to a proper camera or is it just another gimmick, what features would make it actually worth it?

So like we're seeing another camera app for the iPhone, fine cool, but really is it gonna beat what Halide's been doing with Process Zero or the stuff from ProCam 8? These apps have been setting the bar pretty high, honestly feels like a desperate move. Would love to see some more standout features that really separate it, not convinced yet.

I see where you're coming from but I'm not convinced an app on an iphone could really replace actual professional cameras, it's kinda hard to believe the quality can match up, what if the future updates included more advanced manual controls or maybe compatibility with some external lenses to bridge the gap better, have you personally tested it and seen significant differences?

It's interesting to see a top camera brand step into the app market but does an app really bring the Leica experience to your pocket when the real experience is in the hardware for all the talk about mobile device advancements, can an app ever truly replace a dedicated camera? Especially with the delicate nuances and details professional photographers aim for, curious how the app handles low light situations or fast-moving subjects, anyone tested those yet?

Looks like Leica's trying to get a piece of the iPhone's action but can an app really replace what real cameras do, love to see if it can actually give the same quality or just another gimmick, thoughts?

So Leica's making an app now? If I wanted phone photos instead of quality gear I'd just stick with what I got guess they're feeling the heat from Apple huh

Found this on an ad while scrolling, curious if this can really match those high-end cameras y'know, maybe adding more editing features would make it better, any plans for that?

Stumbled on this app through a friend's recommendation tbh I get the whole Leica quality on your phone thing but can an app really give the same feel as an actual Leica camera? maybe it's trying too hard and will there be updates for things like better low light shots?

Seriously, another photo app from a camera company, tho I see they’re trying to bring the whole iconic look to iPhone photos, I wonder how this will stand out against all the other apps already out there, seems like it’s aiming high but what about those basic features we rely on everyday, have they considered integrating a more seamless sharing option or maybe more advanced editing tools for after the pic is taken, does it support RAW format properly, or is it just another fancy gimmick, curious to see how they’ll keep us hooked

Found the app while I was scrolling through some ads, kinda surprised it's from Leica, but do we really need another photo app on our phones, it's cool you can get the Leica Look, but maybe focus on making it more user-friendly, any chance of adding some unique filters or features that other apps don't have?

I stumbled upon this photography app while scrolling through ads, and honestly, it feels like a cash grab by a big brand, like do we really need another photo app when there are already so many good ones out there… But hey, maybe it'll surprise us, though I kind of doubt it

Wow, Leica LUX sounds like a game changer for mobile photography! 🎉 The ProRAW manual controls are super exciting—I'm all about that creative freedom. Can't wait to see how it captures that iconic Leica look on my iPhone! 📸

Congrats on the launch, @chrismessina! Leica LUX seems like a fantastic tool for bringing professional camera controls to smartphones. The app's promise to deliver the iconic Leica look is exciting. I'm curious, are there any particular features that stand out in terms of ease of use or unique capabilities compared to other photography apps? 🎉

This new iPhone app sounds cool then I realized it’s just another way to make us buy more gadgets, why not just invest in a real camera, at least then you get the true Leica experience instead of this smartphone gimmick
