I built this for one person: my mum. She's 90, lives in the UK, and I'm in California. I kept meaning to call and ask her about her life, and record it — her childhood, how she met my dad, what she dreamed about when she was young. I never did. Life got in the way.
So I built Legacy Line to do it for me.
First Sunday it asked her how she met my father. She talked for 18 minutes. I'd never heard the full story. I cried.
The hardest part wasn't the code — it was writing questions that feel like a conversation, not an interview. There are 25 in the library so far. Each week, one question. Each question, one chapter of a story that would otherwise be lost.
