Hi Product Hunt! 👋
The idea for Legacy Keeper has been with me for more than 20 years even before smartphone apps existed. I always wanted to build it, but creating something this complex by myself felt impossible, while professional development would have been far too expensive.
Then, an unexpected event in my life made me realize it was time to stop postponing the idea and finally build the app. It felt like now or never., I decided this was finally the moment to bring the idea to life.
Building Legacy Keeper came with many challenges. The biggest was making the app work while keeping all sensitive information stored locally on the user’s device. None of the legacy data entered in the app is stored externally only basic account details such as your name, email address and phone number.
That privacy-first architecture made development much harder, but it is also what makes Legacy Keeper different. As far as I know, there is currently no comparable app that works in quite the same way.

Love the on-device approach, that part honestly sold me. One thing I'd suggest though is adding some kind of shared access option for a trusted family member using a one-time PIN, basically so if something happens to you someone you trust can actually retrieve the info without needing your fingerprint or face to unlock the phone.
