Learn2Unlock
How a Simple Password Hack Turned Into a Learning App
Turn "doom-scrolling" into "brain-growing." Learn2Unlock replaces app PINs with educational challenges. Want to open an app? Solve a math problem or read an analog clock first. Inspired by "The Father’s Solution," parents can set emergency numbers as the unlock key. Our "Win-Win" mechanic ensures kids either learn or put the phone down.
The idea for this app came from a very real 'parenting hack' in my own home. I was tired of my kids forgetting our emergency phone numbers, so I made those numbers the passwords to their devices. If they wanted to play a game, they had to remember.
It worked so well that I started wondering: What if we could turn every instance of 'doom-scrolling' into a 'win-win' moment for growth?Learn2Unlock is the result. Instead of just blocking apps, we challenge kids to solve a math problem, identify a country, or read an analog clock to gain access. If they solve it, they learn. If they put the phone down, they’ve stopped a mindless habit. Either way, it’s a victory.
A few things we’re proud of in this launch:
Custom Questions: You can set the challenges yourself (like those emergency phone numbers!).
One-Time Purchase: No monthly subscriptions. Just a simple Pro upgrade.
Our Tech Stack: Huge thanks to Firebase, Vercel, RevenueCat, Claude Code, and GitHub Actions for helping us build a robust, snappy experience.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Does your family have a 'parenting hack' that needs to be an app?
