A free guide for people who have never opened a terminal. Try a live demo, set up step by step, then build your first real thing with AI. Fixes for the ten walls beginners hit. Building needs Claude Pro (about $20/month). Not affiliated with Anthropic.
A while ago I had never opened a terminal. A friend showed me one, and some time later I was building real things with AI. What nobody told me at the start was how many small, unexplained walls there are on the way in, and how easy it is to decide "I'm just not technical" when you hit one.
Learn Magic is a free place to start. You can try a live demo on the homepage without signing up, follow the setup guide and video, and build your first real thing on your own computer. When it breaks, there is a page with the ten most common walls and the exact thing to paste. There are also starter builds for teachers, parents, small business owners and freelancers.
Two things I want to say before you ask. Building on your own computer needs a paid Claude plan, about $20 a month, and the site says so up front. And it is not affiliated with Anthropic. The guides are free to reuse (CC BY 4.0). A friend funds it and there is no product behind it.
If you try it, please tell me exactly where you got lost. One word, one button, one second where you wanted to quit. That is the most useful thing you can give me, and I will answer every comment.

Who hunted Learn Magic?
Learn Magic was hunted by gustaf. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
