A terminal database workspace for developers and AI agents
I built LazyDB because I wanted a database tool that felt at home in the terminal.
I spend a lot of time in terminals, Neovim, and AI coding tools, but database workflows often meant switching to a heavy GUI client or manually piecing together CLI commands. I wanted one workspace for browsing schemas, writing SQL, inspecting data, and managing connections.
LazyDB started as a personal Rust project and gradually grew into a keyboard-first database workspace with mouse support, transaction management, Neovim integration, and MCP support for Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode.
It’s still in beta, and I’m launching it to learn how other developers work with databases in the terminal. Feedback on the workflow, supported databases, and missing features would be especially valuable.
