I'm Kevin, the maker of Layoutr.
This started with my own move. I wanted to know exactly which furniture would fit in the new place and how to arrange it, before moving day. But the tools I found were either too complex for what I needed, or simply did not let me upload my own floor plan and define the scale from an actual measurement. So I did what every developer does: I built it myself.
Layoutr is dead simple:
1. Upload any floor plan (a photo, a scan, or the image from your rental listing)
2. Set the scale by clicking two points you know the real distance between
3. Drag real-sized furniture onto the plan and see exactly what fits
A few things I care about:
- It runs in your browser with no sign-up, and the core tool is free.
- Your floor plans stay on your device. They're never uploaded to our servers.
- You can work in meters or feet.
The wild part: every paying subscriber so far came in without a single euro spent on ads, purely through organic search and AI search engines. That told me this specific need is real, so I'm going all in.
