Layout is an AI-powered platform that helps founders and developers turn ideas into working software prototypes instantly. Just describe what you want to build, and Layout generates clean code, UI components, and project structure.
We’re excited to finally introduce Layout — your new favorite way to build working software from a single idea.
🧠 What is Layout?
Layout is an AI-powered tool that generates full React-based prototypes from a simple prompt.
It’s not a wireframe. It’s not a screenshot. It’s real, editable front-end code — ready for you to view, test, and customize.
⚡ Just describe what you want to build, and Layout gives you a complete starting point.
👀 Who’s it for?
• Founders who want to validate ideas fast
• Designers who want working UI, not just static mockups
• Developers who want to skip boilerplate and focus on real problems
• Anyone who wants to go from idea to interactive prototype in minutes
🧩 What makes Layout different?
Layout gives you a full, navigable front-end codebase built with modern tools like React and Tailwind — right in your browser.
✅ View and explore the generated code
✅ Clean, readable components
✅ Fast iteration through prompts
✅ Built-in code viewer with file explorer
🛠 Backend, database, and auth support are coming soon

We’d love your thoughts and feedback 💬
Huge fan of what the team is building here. Layout.dev delivers on the dream of turning product ideas into clean, production-ready React + Tailwind code in seconds—and it actually works. The editor experience is smooth, the output is usable out of the box, and the whole flow feels thoughtfully designed for rapid iteration 🚀
What really sets it apart from other AI UI tools is not just the quality of the generated code, but also how credit-efficient it is. Unlike many competitors that burn through tokens fast with mediocre results, Layout.dev gives you more value per credit—which makes it genuinely usable for real-world projects, not just experimentation.
Excited to see what comes next, especially around backend integrations and user auth. Big up to the team for launching something this refined. Upvoted and already planning to use it in building my vibe coding products 👏
I like that this generates the full project structure, not just isolated components. That's a smart approach. My main thought is on the tech stack. Having options beyond a default (like Vue or Svelte) would make this accessible to a much wider developer base.
looks great! Only thing is that I want to see more improvement on the UI front of the generations. Most tools I've used so far has a very specific UI and it will all look similar so I'd prefer tools which can generate more intuitive UIs.
I'm curious about what the differences are from Lovable. Maybe some comparisons would be better~
