We're Jubéo, Pierre & Matthieu — the team behind Laroutourne.
Every World Cup, our group of friends ran the same ritual: a messy spreadsheet, score predictions lost in a group chat, and endless arguments over who actually called that 2-1 upset. The best part of the tournament, stuck in the worst possible tool. With 2026 being the biggest World Cup ever (48 teams, 3 countries), we wanted to turn that ritual into a real game — the social, competitive fun of predictions, minus the gambling.
This is actually version 2. Back in 2018, we built a first version for the agency we worked at — it quietly became the thing everyone talked about at the coffee machine for a month. That little internal hit is what convinced us to rebuild it properly and open it to everyone for 2026.

(About the name: "la routourne" comes from a legendary 2013 slip by French footballer Franck Ribéry — "la routourne va tourner," his own scrambled take on "la roue tourne" (the wheel turns / what goes around comes around). It became a national meme. Hard to find a better name for a leaderboard where fortunes flip every single match.)
