KondateCart
Plan the week's dinners — the shopping list writes itself
Decide what's for dinner Monday through Sunday, and KondateCart turns those meals into a single shopping list. The same ingredient from different dinners is merged into one line, so you never buy it twice. Tap items off as you shop, reuse dishes from your history, and check tonight's meal from a home screen widget. Fully offline — no account, no sign-up, nothing leaves your phone. Free, with a one-time ad removal and no subscription.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm a solo developer in Japan, and KondateCart started as a spreadsheet.
Every weekend my family sat down, wrote out the dinners for the coming week in Excel, then worked out by hand what to buy. It worked — we stopped buying things we didn't need, and stopped throwing out food we'd forgotten about — but rebuilding that sheet every single week was tedious.
So I turned it into an app. You fill in Monday to Sunday, and the shopping list assembles itself. If three dinners need onions, you get one line that says onions, not three. At the store you tap items off as they go in the cart.
A few deliberate choices:
• It works completely offline. There's no account and no sign-up — your meal plan never leaves your phone.
• It's free. Ads can be removed with a single one-time purchase. There is no subscription and there never will be.
• There's a home screen widget, so "what's for dinner tonight" gets answered without opening anything.
It's available in 8 languages. I'd genuinely love to hear how people outside Japan plan their weekly meals — the habit of "decide the menu first, then shop" is common here, and I'm curious whether it travels.
