Hi Product Hunt — I'm Marco, the maker of Koala. I wanted notes that were always one gesture away without becoming another window to manage. So Koala keeps them in a rail at the edge of the screen: hover to open, click to edit. If a note needs to live next to your work for a while, you can detach it, resize it, and drag it back to the edge afterwards. A few deliberate choices: - Local-first — no account needed, and note content stays on your Mac - iCloud sync is off by default — you turn it on from the menu only if you want it - $9.99 one-time, no subscription It needs macOS 26 or later, and there's a live demo on the site if you want to feel the rail before downloading. I'd love feedback on the edge-rail idea itself — does it fit how you work, and what's missing for you? I'll be here answering.

Koala was hunted by Marco Brito. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
