Knocker transforms traditional cellular-based building buzzers into a voice-activated access system. Create voice pins through our smartphone app to unlock your building entrance. No extra hardware is needed, offering a modern, secure solution.
Hey everyone!
I'm excited to finally launch Knocker! This project is super close to my heart. I created Knocker because I love going for a run every morning, but I hate carrying my keys or phone. My building's buzzer system is like most old buildings in North America: you enter the unit number, it calls the resident's cell, and they can buzz you in. Thanks to Knocker, I've been running key and phone-free for weeks!
Knocker transforms traditional cellular-based building buzzers into a voice-activated access system. With our app, you can create voice pins to unlock your building door. It's perfect for so many situations:
* Forgot your key and your phone's dead: No worries!
* Taking a shower and your partner is at the door: (you haven't given them a key yet 🙄)
* Just locked out with no key or phone: Knocker's got your back!
* Airbnb hosts: create building pins for guests.
* Deliveries: generate one-time use pins for Amazon or Uber Eats.
Features:
* Create regular and one-time use pins.
* Receive notifications for each event.
* View a log of all door events.
All this for $2.99 per month – super affordable!
Curious how it works? Knocker replaces your phone number in the buzzer system with our number. When a visitor enters your unit number, Knocker handles the call. It asks the visitor, "Please say the pin, or wait." If the pin is correct, the door opens. If not, it asks again. No pin? It just calls your cell.
Thanks for being patient with the ugly UI – it's an MVP! I can't wait to hear your thoughts and feedback. Let me know how Knocker is changing the way you enter your home!
Cheers,
Atthar
Also, passers-by will be able to hear what code you use. Is this for apartment blocks or homes. What do you do about your apartment door, leave it unlocked? This is so full of holes. Believe me I work for a long established door entry system manufacturer and we have tried everything, but you cannot compromise security over convenience.
Not sure about North America, but the rest of the world’s Entryphone systems are hardwired to fixed phones, they don’t call cells unless it’s from a gate. I’m pretty sure they aren’t that widespread in North America either. Plus you are reliant on the cell service being up, so could be locked out. I’m sure insurance companies will love this
I can already imagine how many people will be relieved not to have to juggle their keys or phone while carrying groceries!
Hello,
Your concept looks quite interesting! I’m eager to see how it will make building access easier
This must be like a very exciting addition to building security. To what extent is the app's voice pin setup and management user-friendly?
Well done for creating a voice-activated system out of conventional buzzers! The way that technology can make access to the house easier is astounding. I hope this innovative product works out well for you!
This voice-controlled door unlocking sounds amazing! No hardware needed makes it so convenient. Can’t wait to see it in action!
🌟 Congrats on the launch of your latest innovation! 🎊 I'll use it and am excited about its potential. Wishing you continued success and growth with this fantastic new venture! 🚀 @atthar
No more carrying keys or phones on my runs—love it! The voice-activated access and creating pins for guests and deliveries is super convenient.
Great job on this launch!
Wow, Atthar! This is such a clever solution! I can totally relate to the struggle of carrying keys on a run. The voice pin feature is a game changer for sure! I love that you’ve thought of different scenarios where Knocker comes in handy.
