Kitless XI
Guess national teams after every kit clue is removed
Kitless XI is a daily football squad-recognition game built from real national-team lineup photos. Kits, badges, flags, country colours, sponsor marks and stadium clues are removed, leaving only the players. Everyone gets the same Daily V or full Daily XI, no account is required, and each result becomes a spoiler-safe share card.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Kitless XI around a question: how well do we actually know a national team when the colours, crest and flag disappear?
Each puzzle starts with a real pre-match lineup. I remove the kit colours, badges, sponsor marks, flags, signage and stadium clues while trying to preserve every player’s identity and pose. The result is deliberately simple: faces only, one country to name.
There are two synchronized daily modes: Daily V for a quick five-team challenge and Daily XI for the full test. It’s free, works in the browser, needs no account, and generates a spoiler-safe score card to challenge friends.
The hardest part has been making the edits fair—anonymous enough to remove shortcuts, but realistic enough that recognition still feels earned. I’d love feedback on the difficulty curve, photo quality, and whether the game works for football fans outside the hardcore crowd.
Thanks for playing!
Love the stripped-down approach, makes you actually look at the players instead of the badges. One thing that would help me stick with it: a quick "career mode" where you can revisit any past Daily XI you've missed, so you can chip away at older lineups without losing the daily streak feel.
love the stripped-down concept, daily squad guesses feel like a proper brain workout. one thing that would help me stick with it is a small hint system, maybe revealing the country first and then narrowing down position by position, so you can actually finish the XI instead of getting stuck after a few blanks. would probably keep me coming back the next day honestly
Stripping the kits and flags down to just the faces is a clever twist, way harder than I expected but really satisfying when you nail a name. The shared spoiler-safe card is a nice touch for group chats.
honestly love how clean the no-account thing is, makes it super easy to just jump in. one thing i'd want is a quick difficulty toggle for the full xi, like maybe an "easy" mode that gives you league hints or position clues so casual fans can still get a few before giving up. would probably keep me coming back more.
Stripped back to just the faces and the vibe of each XI, it's weirdly addictive even for someone who barely watches football. The spoiler-safe share card is a really thoughtful touch.
A small suggestion from someone who plays these daily: add a quick "replay yesterday" mode so folks who missed a day can still try the previous XI without spoiling today's result. Would make it way easier to stay in the streak.
Stripping out the kits and badges forces you to actually know the players, not just recognise a colour scheme. Love that the spoiler-safe share card keeps my terrible guesses from ruining someone else's run.
