In India, most shared flats hire a cook who comes daily. But nobody coordinates — the cook calls one flatmate every morning asking what to make, and groceries run out with no one tracking them. KitchenOS is a AI WhatsApp bot that sits between flatmates and their cook. Flatmates text or voice-note meals. Cook receives the meal plan as text + voice note in Hindi, Kannada, or English. Cook voice-notes when groceries run low — items parsed, everyone notified. No app. Just WhatsApp. Free.
Hey Product Hunt! I'm Pratheek — product designer by day, building KitchenOS nights and weekends.
I live in a shared flat in Bangalore with a cook. Every morning, someone has to tell the cook what to make. That someone became me — because I was the only one who replied in the flat WhatsApp group.
I also ended up tracking groceries, coordinating with flatmates, and ordering what ran out. Moved flats twice. Different flatmates. Same problem followed.
So I built KitchenOS — an AI WhatsApp bot that sits between flatmates and the cook. Flatmates text or voice-note what to eat. Cook gets the plan in their language. When groceries run low, the cook tells the bot and everyone is notified.
No app. No downloads. Just WhatsApp.
A few flats in Bangalore are testing it right now. Free to try — www.thekitchenos.com
Would love honest feedback 🙏

Who hunted KitchenOS ?
KitchenOS was hunted by Pratheek Purohit. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
